Marcela Jimenez

Columbia Law School Public Interest Fellow

Marcela is a Columbia Law School Public Interest Fellow with NCLEJ. She initially joined NCLEJ as a legal intern in September 2022 supporting our civil rights and racial justice cases. During law school she worked with community-led organizations, such as worker cooperatives and not-for-profits, to provide support on a range of legal issues, including entity-type counseling, legal formation, governance, contracts, tax exemption, employment, marijuana licensing, and other operational issues with the Community and Economic Development Clinic. Prior to law school, she worked as an organizer and researcher for a union.

Marcela graduated from the City University of New York School of Law, where she was a member of CUNY Law Review and Moot Court. She received her undergraduate degree in Economics/Political Science, and Master’s in Public Policy from Simmons University.
