Center Report Exposed New York City Welfare Agency’s Failure to Provide Home Visits to Individuals with Disabilities

The Center investigated and exposed New York City’s failure to comply with its own policy requiring caseworkers to make home visits in order to help those with disabilities, including psychiatric disabilities, apply for and maintain their benefits. Our hard-hitting report, Home Alone: The Urgent Need for Home Visits for People with Disabilities in New York City’s Welfare System, made practical recommendations for improvements. The city asked us to work with the welfare agency to help design and implement reforms.
